The Unseen Bean

The Unseen Bean — компания по обжарке кофе и кафе в Боулдере, штат Колорадо. Джерри Лири, слепой от рождения, начал продавать обжаренный кофе в 2004 году[1], а в марте 2007 года открыл розничное кафе[2][3].

Описание

Лири, который также является защитником прав инвалидов[4], рекламирует «кофе слепой обжарки» для привлечения интереса потенциальных клиентов[3].

Лири управляет бизнесом и обжаривает кофе с помощью собаки-поводыря (которая также изображена на упаковке кофе)[5], а также говорящих термометров и таймеров[1]. Готовность кофейных зёрен он определяет по запаху и звуку[5].

The Unseen Bean была отмечена в выпуске «Top of the Town» денверского журнала 5280 за 2008 год[6].

Лири прошёл обучение и сертификацию по обжарке кофе в Coffee Training Institute и West Coast Specialty Coffee Company в Сан-Франциско[7].
