Христианское государство (концепция)

Христианское государство — это страна, которая признает христианство своей официальной религией и часто имеет государственную церковь (также называемую официальной церковью)[1], которая является христианской деноминацией, которая поддерживает правительство и поддерживается правительством[2].

Исторически народы Аксума, Армении[3][4], Макурии и Священной Римской империи объявили себя христианскими государствами, а также Римская империя и ее наследник Византийская империя, Российская империя, Испанская империя, Британская империя, Португальская империя и Франкская империя[5][6].

Сегодня несколько стран официально идентифицируют себя как христианские государства или имеют государственные церкви. К таким странам относятся Аргентина, Армения, Коста-Рика, Сальвадор, Англия, Греция, Сербия, Мальта, Монако, Замбия, Ватикан, Грузия и Венгрия[7][8][9][10][11][12]. Христианское государство противостоит светскому государству[13], атеистическому государству[14], или другому религиозному государству, такому как еврейское государство[15], или исламское государство.

История

Армянская православная церковь относит свое основание к 301 году, когда Трдат обратился в христианство и провозгласил христианство официальной государственной религией, хотя дата оспаривается[16]. В 380 году три римских императора издали Фессалоникийский эдикт (Cunctos populos), сделавший Римскую империю христианским государством[5] и утвердивший никейское христианство в форме его государственной церкви в качестве официальной религии[17].

После падения Западной Римской империи в конце V века Восточная Римская империя при императоре Юстиниане (годы правления 527—565) стала преобладающим[18] мире[6] государством, основанным на римском праве, греческой культуре и греческом языке[19] В этом христианском государстве, в котором почти все его подданные сохраняли веру в Иисуса, «огромное количество художественных талантов было вложено в строительство церквей, церковные церемонии и церковное убранство»[18].

Как христианское государство Армения «приняла христианство как религию царя, знати и народа»[3]. В 326 году, по официальному преданию Грузинской православной церкви, после обращения Мириан и Наны страна Грузия стала христианским государством, император Константин Великий прислал клириков для крещения людей. В 4 веке, в Аксумском королевстве, после обращения Эзаны в веру, эта империя также стала христианским государством[4][20].

В средние века были предприняты усилия для создания панхристианского государства путем объединения стран внутри христианского мира[21][22]. Христианский национализм сыграл свою роль в эту эпоху, когда христиане почувствовали стремление также восстановить те территории, на которых исторически процветало христианство, такие как Святая Земля и Северная Африка[23].

Современность

Аргентина

В статье 2 Конституции Аргентины прямо говорится, что «федеральное правительство поддерживает римско-католическую апостольскую веру», а статья 14 гарантирует свободу вероисповедания .[24][25] [26] Хотя он не навязывает ни официальную, ни государственную веру, [41] он дает католическому христианству привилегированный статус. Англия

Христианское религиозное образование преподается детям в начальных и средних школах Соединенного Королевства[33]. В английских школах есть юридическое требование о ежедневном коллективном богослужении «широкого христианского характера»[34], которое широко игнорируется[35].

Грузия

Грузия — одно из древнейших христианских государств. Статья 8 Конституции Грузии и Конкордат 2002 года предоставляют Грузинской Православной Церкви особые привилегии, в том числе правовой иммунитет Патриарха Грузии. Православная церковь является институтом, пользующимся наибольшим доверием в стране[36][37], а её глава, патриарх Илия II, — наиболее доверенным лицом[38][39].

Греция

Греция — христианское государство[40][41], с Греческой православной церковью, играющей «доминирующую роль в жизни страны»[42].

Мальта

Раздел второй Конституции Мальты определяет религию государства как римско-католическую апостольскую религию[43][9]. В нём говорится, что «власти Римско-католической апостольской церкви обязаны учить, какие принципы правильны, а какие нет» и что «религиозное обучение Римско-католической апостольской вере должно проводиться во всех государственных школах как часть обязательного образования»[43].

Норвегия

Церковь и государство были официально разделены в 2017 году после внесения изменений в конституцию в 2012 году[44][45]. Хронология отношений между церковью и государством представлена на официальном сайте правительства Норвегии[46].

Национальная церковь
