Люк Тимоти Джонсон (англ. Luke Timothy Johnson; род. 20 ноября 1943) — американский католический исследователь Нового Завета и историк раннего христианства. Лауреат премии Гроумайера в области религии (2011).

Биография

Уроженец Парк-Фолса (штат Висконсин), Джонсон получил образование в государственных и приходских школах. С 1963 по 1972 год был бенедиктинским монахом и священником в аббатстве Святого Иосифа (Сент-Бенедикт, штат Луизиана). Является профессором Нового Завета и христианских истоков в школе теологии Кэндлера и старшим научным сотрудником Центра изучения права и религии при Университете Эмори. Научные интересы Джонсона охватывают иудейский и греко-римский контексты раннего христианства (в частности, моральный дискурс), Евангелие от Луки и Деяния святых апостолов, Пастырские послания и Послание Иакова.

Академическая карьера

Джонсон критикует Семинар по Иисусу, выступая против Бертона Мака, Роберта Функа и Джона Доминика Кроссана в дискуссиях об «историческом Иисусе»[2]. Он возражает против исторической методологии Семинара. Также является сторонником ранней датировки Послания Иакова, утверждая:

Послание Иакова также, по мнению большинства учёных, тщательно изучавших его текст в последние два столетия, относится к числу самых ранних новозаветных сочинений. Оно не содержит ссылок на события из жизни Иисуса, но поразительно свидетельствует о его словах. Изречения Иисуса встроены в увещевания Иакова в форме, которая явно не зависит от письменных Евангелий.

В некоторых областях Джонсон не согласен с римско-католическим учением. Он утверждает, что «однополые союзы могут быть святыми и благими», и выступает за «полное признание геев и лесбиянок в христианском общении»[3].

Джонсон подготовил лекции по раннему христианству и древнегреческой философии для The Teaching Company.
