The Ultimate Collection — сборный бокс-сет из 10 дисков (со 120 песнями) американского кантри-певца и автора-исполнителя Гарта Брукса, изданный 11 ноября 2016 года на студии Pearl, который распространялся через Target[1]. Альбом возглавил американский хит-парад кантри-музыки (а также достиг № 6 в Billboard 200). К ноябрю 2016 года тираж превысил 0,3 млн копий в США[2][3].

История

В сентябре 2016 года появились первые сообщения о предстоящем в ноябре выходе через сети Target крупного бокс-сета Гарта Бруса из 10 дисков[4][5]. The Ultimate Collection включает 9 дисков Брукса с ранее записанным материалом и несколько не издававшихся новых треков. Все они распределены по тематическим плейлистам[6]. Десятым диском бокс-сета стала эксклюзивная Target-версия нового 10-го альбома Gunslinger, с несколькими эксклюзивными треками от Target. «Baby, Let's Lay Down and Dance» вышел 13 октября 2016 года как первый сингл с Gunslinger. Предзаказы на бокс-сет стали крупнейшими в истории сети Target [7].

The Ultimate Collection вышел 11 ноября 2016 года на студии Pearl. Бокс-сет дебютировал на позиции № 1 в кантри-чарте Top Country Albums и на № 13 в мультиформатном хит-параде Billboard 200[8] (позднее поднявшись до № 6[9]) с тиражом в 134,000 копий в первую неделю[10][11]. Кантри-чарт Top Country Albums Гарт Брукс возглавил уже в 16-й раз (предыдущий 15-й чарттопер был за пару недель до этого, это диск Christmas Together, записанным вместе с женой и певицей Trisha Yearwood)[12][13]. Это 18-й альбом Гарта Брукса попавший в лучшую десятку top-10 американского чарта Billboard 200, что больше чем у идущего на третьем месте среди всех кантри-музыкантов Tim McGraw (17) и позади лидера George Strait (20). Абсолютный лидер по этому показателю за всю историю группа The Rolling Stones (37 альбомов в top-10) и певица Barbra Streisand (34)[14].

К декабрю 2016 года тираж бокс-сета составил 325,900 копий в США[2].
