Хорган, Джон (журналист)

Джон Хо́рган (англ. John Horgan); (род. 23 июня 1953, Нью-Йорк, Нью-Йорк, США) — американский научный журналист, наиболее известный своей книгой «Конец науки» («The End of Science» (1996)[1].

Карьера

Отец — Джон Дж. Хорган, бизнесмен; мать — Джоан (Тиммерман) Хорган. В 1983 году Хорган окончил факультет журналистики Колумбийского университета. С 1986 по 1997 год был старшим автором журнала Scientific American.

Писал для многих изданий, включая National Geographic, Scientific American, The New York Times, Time, Newsweek и IEEE Spectrum. Среди его наград — две премии в области научной журналистики от Американской ассоциации содействия развитию науки и премия Национальной ассоциации научных писателей. Его статьи были включены в издания The Best American Science and Nature Writing за 2005, 2006 и 2007 годы. С 2010 года ведёт блог «Cross-check» для ScientificAmerican.com[2].
