Сандерсон, Алексис

В 1969 году окончил Оксфордский университет по специальности «классическая филология». В 1971 году специализировался на санскрите. После этого провёл шесть лет в Кашмире (северный регион Индийского субконтинента), где обучался у гуру кашмирского шиваизма.

С 1977 по 1992 год работал преподавателем санскрита и почётным научным сотрудником в Вулфсон-колледже Оксфорда. В настоящее время возглавляет кафедру восточных религий и этики в этом же университете.
