Мазар, Амихай

Амиха́й (Ами) Маза́р (ивр. ‏עמיחי מזר‏‎; 19 ноября 1942, Хайфа, Подмандатная Палестина) — израильский археолог, профессор Института археологии Еврейского университета в Иерусалиме с 1994 года, обладатель именной кафедры Элеазара Суке́ника по археологии Израиля. Его труд «Archaeology of the Land of the Bible» («Археология Земли Библии») широко используется в университетах как учебник по археологии Израиля.[1] Работы Мазара способствовали утверждению модифицированной конвенциональной хронологии как основной схемы израильской хронологии железного века.[2] Женат, имеет троих детей, проживает в Иерусалиме. Биография

Амихай Мазар родился 19 ноября 1942 года в Хайфе, в период британского мандата в Палестине. С 1994 года занимает должность профессора Института археологии Еврейского университета в Иерусалиме, где возглавляет кафедру археологии Израиля имени Элеазара Суке́ника. Мазар — представитель известной археологической династии: его дядя Беньямин Мазар был одним из первых археологов Израиля, а двоюродная сестра Эйлат Мазар также занималась археологией. Амихай Мазар руководил археологическими раскопками на ряде важных памятников в Израиле и на Палестинских территориях, среди которых:

Мазар был одним из первых археологов, внедривших использование радиоуглеродного датирования на памятниках Леванта и в Средиземноморском регионе, начиная с работ на Телль Рехов.

Древние ульи

Во время раскопок древнего города Рехов Мазар обнаружил 30 целых ульев, датируемых примерно 900 годом до н. э., когда в городе проживало около 2 000 жителей. Ульи, изготовленные из соломы и необожжённой глины, были найдены в аккуратных рядах и, возможно, являются самыми древними полностью сохранившимися ульями, когда-либо обнаруженными.[3]
