Хелф, Дж. Фред
Джон Фред. Хелф (англ. John Fred. Helf; 1871 — 19 ноября 1915[1][2]) — американский композитор, автор песен и издатель нот начала XX века. Уроженец Кентукки, он переехал в Нью-Йорк, где написал более 100 песен, в том числе в сотрудничестве с Уиллом А. Хиланом. Основал собственную музыкальную издательскую компанию, которая обанкротилась в 1910 году.
Хелф родился в Мейсвилле (Кентукки). В возрасте 27 лет он отправился искать счастья в Нью-Йорк. Там он сочинил более 100 песен, некоторые из них в соавторстве с Уиллом А. Хиланом.
В октябре 1910 года его музыкальная издательская компания J. Fred Helf Music подала заявление о банкротстве; управляющим был назначен Элиу Рут-младший. Всё имущество и активы компании были проданы на аукционе 12 марта 1913 года в Нью-Йорке.
Хелф отошёл от музыкального бизнеса за пять месяцев до смерти из-за болезни. Он умер в Либерти (Нью-Йорк) в возрасте 44 лет, оставив вдову и дочь.
